How to update my shipping address?

• Find your BackerKit survey link - it should be in your inbox. If not, please contact [email protected] and we'll resend it to you.
• There are 2 ways to update your shipping address:

1. VIA COMPUTER -  You will find the edit button on the right hand corner of your screen.

2. VIA PHONE -Access the drop down menu at the top of your screen. Go to “View Confirmation”. Scroll down to ”Shipping info”. There, you will find the edit button.

December is going to be BUSY!

Hi there,

November has been a busy month for us, as we race towards the finish line but December will be even busier. December will be as busy for us as it is for the rest of the world so, we were advised by our partners that we should start shipping our products out to you, early January instead of December.

This is due to a number of reasons which includes, postal services being flooded with a high risk of parcels getting lost during the very busy holiday season and staff shortages because of COVID-19. We apologise for this, as we understand that some of you were hoping to receive our products in time for the gifting season.

What's the plan for this December?

• We will be receiving the shipment from our manufacturer to our warehouse. Fun fact - we estimated around 170,000 different components and packaging will be arriving to us.
• Packing up the kits into the mailer boxes - ready for shipping in January (that's about 3000+ orders)
• Website development - Our website will look a bit different in January. You will also be able to set up your subscription through your own personal account.
• Locking your addresses, ready for fulfilment. THIS WILL BE YOUR LAST CHANCE TO UPDATE YOUR SHIPPING ADDRESS. 

Sneak Preview

We have something special to share with you. This what it will look like (almost) when you'll receive Tooth. - there will be some print design on there but we're keeping that as a surprise 😉

In our last update, we shared pictures of the tool that will be used to make the heads and the handles. Our manufacturer has sent us this is as well, which is the tooling for TOOTH.CASE. The case is actually the most complex product of all to make as there are multiple components.

Again, we apologise for the slight push-back on the delivery time. We will be updating you through the month of December with more info and pictures. As you know, COVID-19 has put a huge spanner in the works which has led to all these delays. The wait is almost over and we are so glad that you've stuck through with us. Transparency has always been on the top of our list, this is why we've always made sure to share both our highs and lows with you - it's all part of the journey.

October Update: We are so close!

Hi there,

After last months hiccup, we want to thank you for your understanding. We are so grateful for all the positivity and support we have received this past month. October has been very positive for us. Inching closer and closer to our December delivery date, progress has been made and we are expecting our very first production samples very soon (more on that a bit later).

Before we dive into manufacturing updates, there are a few things we wanted to clarify regarding last months update about going with fully recyclable heads for our launch. This is temporary. We are working with Floreon, an award-winning biomaterials technology company, to create fully compostable bristles. It will take around a year to develop (this is considering testing, certification etc..) before we will be able to launch the new material.

We are also looking into setting up a way for you to keep hold of the heads and once you've collected up to a certain amount, you will be able to request for a free shipping bag where you can send the heads for recycling (either with us or via TerraCycle).

The reason why we took this decision and to not delay our launch any further is because of this hiccup, we now have to fund the new development with Floreon. Our future sales, post launch, will enable us to move forward with this development and get us the bristles we want. On top of that, we had Covid-19 delays, so we must now move forward because if we don't, we will sink, and the chances for the worlds first truly biodegradable toothbrush and bristles will go down the drain. It’s because of small companies like ours, who push forward for innovations like these that change can happen.

Our ethos remains unchanged, as we strive to be as green and as eco-friendly as we possible can be, despite this hiccup.

Now, what have we been up to? As mentioned in our previous update. We have started the tooling for our heads and handle! The tools are finally made (see pictures below) and we will be starting our first production runs very soon. We will be seeing first sample runs at the beginning of November!

During the sample runs, we will be colour matching our heads and handles - basically making sure that the colours we want are in the correct shades. The heads and handles will also go through our rigorous quality control. We even have an engineer from Floreon, on site, ensuring that the compostable material for our head (body) is being properly handled.

Lastly, our travel case has gone through the final 3D sample development and tooling will be starting in the next few days. This took a bit of time, as we had to make many tiny adjustments such as ensuring the heads sits properly in the case without falling out and making sure our recycled magnets don't rattle inside the case, without damaging it during assembly and so on.

It's been a long journey, but we are almost there! We really look forward to start shipping Tooth to you this December.

A BIG bump on the road...

Hi there,

This month's product update has been hard to write. Although we have some good news to share with you, we’ve hit a major bump in the road – our manufacturer has let us down on delivering the Nylon 4 biodegradable bristle, so we have had to look for alternatives.

We don’t want to delay getting the eco toothbrush sets out to you, as Covid-19 has already delayed us for too long. So, we’ve made the difficult decision to give you fully recyclable bristles (the head is already biodegradable as it made from Floreon) in order to fulfil our commitment to you as quickly as we can.

The good news is, we are still on target for December 2020.

We have started the tooling for our heads and handle. Things are going smoothly with this and we’re expecting to see first production samples in the next 30-40 days.

The first production run of the recycled Tooth.Stand is pretty much done, just a few more to go. We even have a really cool video to show you how it’s made! (see below) These first production samples will be sent to us relatively soon and we look forward to sharing more pictures with you.

Our packaging samples are FINALLY done. These took much longer than expected. There was a lot of back and forth and making sure things are 100% correct. The samples are currently on the way to us and we cannot wait to test it all our for final quality control.

COVID-19 Update #7 // More Progress, More Samples!

Hi there,

Summer is officially over but this means we are getting closer to our launch date, and boy, we have been BUSY! Summer for us has been mostly indoors, in front of our computers, typing and clicking away. All of it is worth it because every second spent working, is every second closer to ship Tooth to you. 

Things are moving quite swiftly and we're still on target for December 2020.   

Let's talk production progress and samples! The samples of our stands have finally arrived for us to inspect and play around with. After further thought, we will be rounding the edges of the stand, making it less sharp and safer to use. Apart from that, we are ready to green light the first production runs for these! (See picture below) 

We have more samples of our packaging!! (see video below) We have a little bit of tweaking to do to ensure that the box is solid enough for shipping. Once we're happy with it all, our manufacturer will be sending the samples over, for us to see in person and hopefully we can green light it.

In our last update, we mentioned that we decided to change the configuration of the bristles. We received the new samples and we're very happy with how they are now. We are just waiting on some final bits from our manufacturer but we should be pressing GO very soon on first production runs as well.

Things are looking positive! We really look forward to shipping Tooth to you and right on time for Christmas too. Consider it a little Christmas gift from us to you :)
